The Shamrock Foundation Photos with the Grinch

|
I was recently asked to volunteer a weekend of my time to take photos of peoples pets sitting on the Grinch's lap, sounds like fun, lets do it! Well the night before the charity event was supposed to kick off it snowed a good 3 inches out where I live making it extremely difficult to get out of my driveway and being that it was the first snow of the year all kinds of things were not going well that next morning. The lady who organized the photos for the event happened to have a 4x4 that they sent my way to pick me and all my gear up and bring safe and sound to the event. Pretty impressive, huh? ;)

Even with the snow fall the turn out was really good for the weekend and as promised here are some of the photos for those who brought their pets and gave to a great charity. If you are looking to get prints made of these photos you can visit my SmugMug site that can ship prints of almost anything you could imagine right to your doorstep, a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Shamrock Foundation.

If you are looking to adopt a truly special animal please take a moment to check out the Shamrock Foundation their hard work and tireless efforts ensure that an abused animal is cared for.
Thanks again for supporting such a great cause!

Billy + Debra

A weekend in May I was offered the opportunity to photograph a very close friends wedding which I did not hesitate to say yes to. I have known Debra for over 12 years and was really excited to get to head out to Phoenix and then Prescott Valley to be a part of her wedding.

Amicalola Falls State Park

A Sunday drive in the out skirts of Atlanta will take you to at least one of Georgia's 60 state parks, where there are trails to hike and sights to see. This Sunday I opted to head to a park with a waterfall, the website said to be warned of the many stairs that were on this particular 2 mile trail, of course I wasn't going to let a few stairs stop me from setting out with my camera. These are not your regular stairs, they are seriously steep, I had to keep stopping to catch my breath and let the fire burning in my calfs cool down before trying to walk up the next set. After finally making it to the top I was just too tired to enjoy the view. I realized that I need to start getting out more than once a week! The walk back down seemed to be a bit shaky, no wait that was my legs trying to figure out why I was still making them move.

The drive out to the park was about 2 hours from Atlanta and through winding roads and beautiful scenery. I would like to go back in the winter time and see how different the park looks then. For now here are a few photos from my hike, enjoy!

Panola State Park

Today happened to be one of the first days that I really had nothing to do, I woke up early and got my laundry finished and thought it might be fun to check out a local state park, so that is exactly what I did. I haven't been taking very many pictures since I moved to Atlanta, but since I am still living in a hotel for another week I sort of have a really good excuse?

2010.01 Fall in Love Workshop

|
What an amazing two days spent in sunny San Luis Obispo with Cameron Ingalls and fellow photographers looking to work in the wedding and engagements photography market. Just getting to meet with other like minded people has been so much fun and so educational. Cameron shared so many stories and insights into what it takes to make it in this business. I am so excited to start using my camera in ways that I had not thought possible, as much as it is technical it also so much more. Pushing ourselves to take that photo that often times is missed, is now more of a priority than ever before.
Here are a few photos from the workshop, hope you enjoy them as much as I did while taking them!
